Finished Lucy Bag

I finally finished my Lucy bag I was making for my aunt. Just in time for her 60th birthday celebration next weekend.
As for my Blogoversary winner/swapper - Joanne Retzler who commented via Google+. Joanne, please send me an email to laydilyke@yahoo.com
I got some lovely Christmas fabrics this week.

Preparing

It's surprising how the new seasons creep in on you when you still trying to let go of the last.  But each year as fall comes, I realize how much I love fall. And that Christmas isn't far off so I better get working on Xmas project gifts.  I have been doing some sewing projects. I'm not completely going to show them so the ones I'll be giving them to won't be surprised.
I've been working on a Lucy bag here for my aunt for a few years now. Well it's coming up to be her 60th next month so I am trying to get it done for that.

Working on some African flowers for the Happy Hippo. I'm sure that may get completed some time next year. LOL

Stash busting to make some hat, tis the season. I may change the flower because once it's on the head it's HUGE. Chunky yarn flowers don't work on chunky yarn hats.

And finished my granny square tree.

Here's a fun thing going around on Instagram.
What would your name be?

Happy weekend all!

Taking Time

I haven't been gung ho on many projects in the last few weeks.  Hand, elbow, shoulder is still bother me.  I've been going to chiropractor weekly.  I type all day at my job and have been trying to stay off the pc when I come home as well.  Oh well.  I have been trying to get a row a day done on this Lucy bag I'm making for my aunt.  Love looking at it, just makes me smile.

I have been following Baby Love Brand on Instagram and her blog.  She is a blanket making machine. Well I really love her gumball blankets and thought making my cousin one for baby would be nice.
I bought her pattern from Etsy.  Here are my gumballs so far before turning into squares.

Trying not to use pinks as it's going to be a boy's blanket. LOL

So much yarn, so little time in a day.

Lucy Bag Fini

When I came home from work Friday night, it was my intent this weekend to finish my Lucy Crochet bag.  I got together with a friend to work on stuff and managed the last of the rows and the scallop edging and started the handles.  I finished those off, sewed them on today and put a flower on.  I still have to finish up with remaining flowers.  I feel relieved to complete this project, finally.

It was so nice out today honey and I went for a drive and ended up in a small town about 20 minutes away.  It has some historical roots in this area and the weather brought out the best of it.

I haven't done much on other projects as I wanted to get the bag done.  But it is a good feeling to finish a project like this that sat for a bit.  My birthday is a week tomorrow so have to get some things done for the car sticker renewal this week.  Time sure flies the older we get.

Have a good week everyone!
