Crafty Chaos

Oh how I wish one could go to Yarndale.  Seems like an amazing event going on this weekend in the UK.  We need something like that here.
Anyway, this is my circular ripple progress for this week.

My work table.  I got a yarn ball winder from Etsy this week.  So nice to make those messy bits and skeins into a neat tidy yarn cake.

Hexie progress.  Now I am starting to make some plain white to go in between.
And a new fat quarter from E-bay this week.  Perfect to make squares as it's already blended with different patterns.

I had a day off in the middle of the week and stopped in at a county nursery/gift shop.  They are all decked out for fall.

I got a pumpkin spice candle, a few tiny pumpkins for my window ledge and a fall mum plant. I love fall.

Happy Weekend everyone!

Circular Ripple WIP

I've been mostly working on this during the week.  It's growing.  Below is my sunday morning crochet with a new Hello Kitty mug full of latte.

Honey and I went hunting for better lighting for my craft area yesterday.  The Home Depot guy suggested a long fluorescent fixture.  We brought it home and tried it out and sure enough, plenty of lighting to sew and craft.  But it seems the fixture is a lemon.  After getting the tube bulbs in the one end started smoking and showing some flames at the end.  So, have to bring it back.

I've also been basting some hexies this week as well.

Weekends just never seem long enough.
Happy Sunday!!

Paper Piecing

I've seen so many blogs and pics on Instagram from creative peeps making these gorgeous hexagons from english paper piecing. I've ordered the pre-cut shapes and have a stash of materials from E-bay.  I've watch the tutorials on You Tube on how to do it and finally on Sunday I tried it out.
It seems the time consuming part is the cutting the squares for prepping these shapes.  But not too bad.

I'm loving my new hobby. :)

Stripey Blanket

I finished my zipper stripe blanket for my co-worker's little girl. I'm sure she'll carry it around like Linus. It worked up farely quick. It took a week or so.

We finally got some new furniture for our Living room. It's been quite a few years since we bought anything major furniture wise. Crappy economy will do that. I love the rustic look of it.

Happy weekend all. Enjoy the weather. This was our weather here this week.

Zipper Stripe Blanket

I started this with the new free yarn I received, along with some colours I already had.  I thought maybe a pet blanket but I got interest from a co-worker for a nap time blanket for her little girl.

I'm now on the second sequence of my rainbow colors.  I think I'll see how long two rounds of the colours turns out.  I needed, maybe 3 then run a border up the sides.  Nothing like making something with rainbow theme to keep ya smiling.  Happy weekend all!!

Free Yarn

My cousin stopped by with a box full of yarn.  A lady from her church gave it to her asking if
she knew anyone who can use it.  She knew exactly who.
Of course I was over joyed.

I started making something that day.  A small pet blanket.

Other than this I haven't made a whole lot lately.  Oh, except an apple cozy.
Nothing special to look at but serves a purpose.

Happy Long Weekend to those in US and Canada!!
