Leap Into Spring

I've been doing a bit more crochet lately.  Mostly on the weekends.  The weeks just fly by, gym, work, house chores, pet attention, hubby attention. Finally come the weekend i pull out my projects and unwind crocheting while usually watching Hockey Saturday nights. I had boughten a Caron Cake yarn skein in buttercream a while back and started making this star shaped throw.

I only bought one skein, my bad, to go back to Michael's craft store to find they haven't had this color in quite some time.  I've search online with no luck for the buttercream. I popped into Walmart one day and they had these by Bernat.  It's a similar colorway just has some darker brown shades.

Sadly, I think I will have to continue with that. I think it'll be a complementary color scheme to what I have already started. What do you think?

And on the trip to Michael's to see if they had the buttercream in, these small skeins of fun colours caught my eye and envisioned a project in my head. They were only a $1.25 each.  Then I had a coupon for the big skein of white for joining.

Keegan is turning 15 this month.  Also my birthday this weekend. Honey and I going out for a romantic birthday dinner.  And for dessert, a week off of work.

Birthday Happiness

I finally finished my bicycle seat cover.  I am anxiously awaiting the perfect temperature

to go out on the bike.  It's been a long sedentary winter and desperately need some 

exercise outside.

I've had some days off for my birthday and Good Friday.  Yesterday I finally got the sewing machine out to do some projects.  I made 3 of these tea wallets.

For my birthday I spent the day with my cousin and her little one. I had to get a picture of the hat I got him.  He didn't mind it and actually kept it on for a while. My co-worker got my a wonderful fruit and vegetable basket. I came home from work and my honey surprised me with this cake. And as you can see I got some fun owl pressies.

Ups and downs

Well since Easter I've since turned 40. I had a few days off.  I went to visit a friend and her little one.  On the way home I had a stupid incident with the car.

I drove over the edge of a median in a parking lot.  It didn't sound good after that and I noticed the engine mount cracked. I had to get it towed to a garage.  Honey, was needless to say pleased, NOT. I had plans to go to dinner with my cousin and still did that. But, nonetheless it put a damper on my day. 

I've been crocheting ripple cushions in efforts to stash bust. 

And I had since made one more bunny.  The cat seemed to like it.

Happy Easter

I've made 4 of these bunnies this week.  I brought them to work to sell for Easter.  I did sell 3 of them and gave one to my aunt for her birthday.  I'm off this Monday and Tuesday for my birthday.  Turning the big 4-0.  Haven't thought a lot about it or how I feel turning forty.  I don't feel 40, in mind anyway, body is another story. HAHA.

Birthday Weekend Part 2

I am officially quiting crocheting.  Who needs it.  Boring repetitive yarning.  Colours too bright.

NOT.  April Fools!!!

I made my first mosaic of projects. Mostly ones to do with March. My African flowers now being made into a bag. My yummy ripple blanket, can't get it done quick enough, Lucy Crochet Bag (finally a finished project), my Rainbow Mandala sold on Etsy and Crochet motif book.

So yesterday honey and I went out browsing some stores, Pet stores, trinket stores, etc.  Then we had lunch and my favourite place, Mongolian Grill. Buffet style, you pick your food, sauces and spices and they cook it for you in the open on a big giant grill.  Come with a salad.  I also had enough points on their frequent warrior card to get a free appetizer, these Pizza Rolls. I didn't care for them but the buffet is always worth it.

We went to the mall and I got myself a few things.  A new calendar, yes I know it is now April but they were 60% off and I have been waiting for this type to go on sale as they fit into those wooden wall holders.  As well I found this cute little owl, at the Dollarstore no less.

Honey got me a very cute birthday card. I had to video it to show you.

Then I got to come home and relax, enjoy some drinks and crochet.  I got another 2 1/2 rows done on the ripple.
