Distractions

I found the perfect strapping for my crochet purse and starting to attach.  Since it's pride month it's the perfect time to finish this project off.  

I had a week off work last week and really didn't do as much crafting as I intended. 

I did make a few pouches and strawberry coaster mug rugs.

We went to the Toronto Zoo for a day trip.  I wanted to go a few years ago as they had Panda's on loan from China but they've since moved on to the Calgary Zoo.  It was a cooler day which was good 

as I heard it's not a place to be mid-summer heat.  We painted the bedroom and re-arranged the 

living room.  A little change always helps. 

I've still been dealing with some elbow shoulder issues but still determined to work

on my crafting projects.

Holidays Means More Crafting

Last weekend was Easter weekend and for the first time in a few years I didn't have to

work it.  My industry is 24/7 and we have to work 3 holidays a year. I was glad to have

this one off finally. I got quite a bit of sewing done.

I used up some left over scraps and made a small baby quilt pad.  Changing pad if you 

like.  My hubby gave it to his co-worker who just had a baby.

I finished up a bag I had started.  The outside is crocheted and I sewn the lining to fit, 

added the zip and assembled it to the crochet outer piece.  Now I just have to decide 

and get the handles to suit.

Looking back on these photos I had started the crochet stripe back in May 2015.

Wow time flies.

And I finished this panel, quilted and ready to hang. 

I also made this pixie cup I saved the pattern for a while back. 

Mostly to hold my sewing stuffs on my bench.

And this weekend I found this musical note fabric, a co-worker plays in a band

so I made up this box pouch for her.

Despite now tennis elbow pain for weeks, I still find it hard to give up

any crafting. First it was tendinitis in my left shoulder now it's in right

elbow.  I've been going to physio for a few months now.  Just getting older I guess.

Spring is Here

Time flies when you work a lot. Last week I worked 60 hours so there was little time for my crafting. I did however get some done on the weekends.

I made this little mini bag for a co-worker's birthday this week.  

A mini Lucy bag if you will.

I've still been plugging away at this crochet stripey blanket. 

I'm planning on giving to my cousin's little one.

Still knitting away.  I love this self striping yarn. Had I know it was going to knit up like this, I would have not made my caplet with it knitting in the round.

A few weekends ago we went for a walk at a local conservation area and the deer

were out in full force.  They are such beautiful creatures.

Finished Lucy Bag

I finally finished my Lucy bag I was making for my aunt. Just in time for her 60th birthday celebration next weekend.

TGIF

It was a gloomy morning here that cleared just in time for my lunch hour.  I went down to the park to enjoy it, close my eyes for a bit. 

Got some more progress done on the crochet bag.  And the star stitch scarf project is coming along.

A fun stitch.  As well as I got my nails done yesterday, and I find they help grab yarn when you're trying to get your hook through a tricky piece like in this stitch.

Now, as you can see, I have bigger fingers and now know why working with smaller gauge yarns are not as easy for me.

 And for my bits of crochet to brighten my desk.  

Today I noticed the first signs of fall season coming, along with the cooler weather that is...

And lastly, I forgot to share my new toy.  What goes better with crochet than coffee.

Now I can enjoy my cappuccino's at home while relaxing with my crochet.

Groovy Crochet

Got some relaxing time in last night crocheting with a friend.  Pulled out the ripple.  Fall season is just around the corner and I want to get this blanket ready and  usable before cooler weather.  I was laying in bed last night crocheting a bit and realised how warm and cozy it actually is.

And progress on the crochet bag. 

This week I was excited to get my new glasses.  I got a regular pair with no frame on bottom and I got my first prescription sunglasses.  Whoohoo.  What do you think?

Groovy glasses, as is my favourite term. 

Long Weekend Crochet

My aunt mentioned she loved my crochet bag and asked if I could make her one. A bright colourful one. So got out the cotton yarn. I started it the way I wanted to with mine, the linked double crochet stitch. It's much more durable. Less likely for things to poke out of your bag.

I also started on a bobble decorations, also a Lucy "Attic24" pattern.

Mind the posts of pictures as I am writing this on my phone.

I also pulled out an old project I started quite a while ago, a top. Working on the bodice of it.

Lucy Bag Fini

When I came home from work Friday night, it was my intent this weekend to finish my Lucy Crochet bag.  I got together with a friend to work on stuff and managed the last of the rows and the scallop edging and started the handles.  I finished those off, sewed them on today and put a flower on.  I still have to finish up with remaining flowers.  I feel relieved to complete this project, finally.

It was so nice out today honey and I went for a drive and ended up in a small town about 20 minutes away.  It has some historical roots in this area and the weather brought out the best of it.

I haven't done much on other projects as I wanted to get the bag done.  But it is a good feeling to finish a project like this that sat for a bit.  My birthday is a week tomorrow so have to get some things done for the car sticker renewal this week.  Time sure flies the older we get.
