Another Ripple

Now before you say it, I know I haven't finished my other ripple.  In due time. It will be done by winter ;)  I wanted to work on stash busting. And my friend @ Krazy Momma Kreations had made a ripple with the Loops & Threads Charisma yarn and I fell in love with it because it was super cozy.  So I had alot of these grey, black, white and mixed tones that would make a male friendly ripple.  It works up quick.  So I guess it's my one a day project.  A row a day, if not more.  But I pulled a tendon or something in my right hand so I have been trying to take it easy with crafting.

I've been reading the talked about book series, Fifty Shades of Grey, first book in series.  It may not be for everyone but it's definitely steamy.

On the weekend honey and I went to the beach and I picked some sea shells.  Looking at them, it would make a nice colour scheme for something crocheted.  What do you thing?

Granny A Day

Well not quite a day.  More like granny once in a while.  As I still have a granny blanket on the go.  In the grey, black and white scheme.  I am trying out different types of squares with it now.

Only problem with these different squares, it's making odd size and shapes to fit into the scheme.  I guess I can always add extra borders on some.

Who watched the Olympic Opening Ceremonies.  Some parts are a bit boring but I was quite impressed with the light shows, fireworks and at the end the lighting and design of the Olympic Cauldron. So pretty.

It must be pretty exciting to be in London right now.  I've been fascinated with that city for years and would love to go.  But, who know. May not happen. I've never been on a plane anywhere.

This week I've been playing around with some yarn I got off E-Bay.  It's fingering and it's awkward to work with for me with big hands. Then I was trying to find a pattern for it, something light maybe to wear.  I found a scarf pattern.  After the first row or so I was going to frog it but thought keep going to see how it looks.
It may be hard to see but love these colours.
And I started a butterfly.  After finishing I think I did one too many wings or something.  When I folded in half, it's just not right.
I also had started a loom scarf.  Thinking ahead for winter and to make more things for my Etsy store.
And finally a picture of my cat.  He hates his picture taken.

Undecided Title

Ever have a hard time titling your blog post.  At times it can be repetitive.  Well I made another owl mug cozy.  For a smaller mug this time or bottle.  I would like to make for of different types to sell on my Etsy.  Oh, and I listed a few more items on my Etsy store, link down the right side.

My little coin purse.  I will have to remake my liner as it doesn't allow for the clasp and wide opening. But on Sunday I also made my liner for the Granny Messenger Bag.

Slowly but surely.  I tend to procrastinate at the end of projects. LOL

Honey and I went for a nice bike ride last night to feed the birds. And a family with baby ducks came.
And my new cotton Lily n Cream came from Herschnerr's this week.  Yeah!! Now what to make with it.

Happy Hump Day!

Quick Projects

Nothing is better than starting a project and finishing it in the same day. I had found a cute little pattern for an owl mug cozy.  So, I had stopped by Michael's yesterday to take advantage of their 20% off coupon and found a nice variegated colour yarn for this owl project.  Of course I can use it on future ones as well.  They have some new line of generic yarn that had a few colour ways that would do an owl justice.  Anyway, I chose this one.

I made it mostly for my mug at work, but it worked well on this one I have at home and am currently enjoying my coffee in it.

Also, I was just messing around with some cotton this week and was thinking dish cloth but then in my craft bag I had found a coin purse clasp I had gotten a while back. So, I improvised on my size and made it to fit the clasp.  I still have to attach it yet but want to sew a little liner in it.  Yay!

I am trying to get some other started or near complete projects done.  Again, ADD and I love to produce many happy things as possible. I have done a few more rows on my ripple blanket.

I also posted my Daisy Granny Blanket for sale on my Etsy along with my hearts swag.

I went to a thrift store yesterday and found a very nice tank top, brand name, that still had the tags on it.  But the lovely pattern and it fit like a charm, I had to get it.

And a nice find in yarn, 6 skeins of this bone colour 50% Cotton 50% Acrylic

Love thrift shopping.

Oh, I was looking back and I realized I never posted the picture of the Daisy Granny Blanket completed with the border.  So here it is.

Flower Swag

Well, I managed to finish my flower swag and am just posting this quick blog post via Android.  I probably could of made it a tad bit longer, but it works. And, looks super cute above the window. Now I can wake up to my Happy Flowers.

Festivals Galore

I love summer for all the festivals that go on in our area.  We scope them out early, see who's performing, how much to go etc.  I usually plan some vacation days around them and that was this weekend - Friday and Monday.  We had our local Bluesfest this weekend.  My honey and I got to go for free with my cousins.  Turned out to be a blast and a bit of crazy night.  The following day we hadn't planned on going.  The performance line-up wasn't the best this year, but a wonderful co-worker offered me her tickets as her husband and her couldn't make it.  So we went and it was quite busy.  We even walked back to the car to get our chairs. We still had fun though.

And finally, the big weekend event was to go to a concert festival in another city that we had already previously had tickets for.  If you're family with rock/alternative bands the line up was Papa Roach (Canadian band), Simple Plan (Canadian band) and The Offspring.  My honey was more interested in seeing the Offspring as it was a favourite of his younger days.  Just as the first band was going to play, it down poured rain.  But, since we are veteran festival goers, we plan for it all.  I pulled out our emergency ponchos. Luckily the rain didn't last long. The singer of Papa Roach even came out and walked around the crown.  It was a bit mucky though, but no worries, dirt washes off.

Needless to say I didn't get much crochet in this weekend.   I had been working on some little flowers throughout last week.  And today, recovery day, made a vine like swag to attach them to.  So once I get that done I'll post it.  I want to hang it across bedroom window.

And the Friday I had off, I treated myself to a new do at the salon.  My hairdresser is awesome!

Hoping to get some crochet done this week, but it looks to be busy again.  And another long weekend for me coming up.

Weekend fun

Hello all!  This past weekend I managed to go back to a started project, thanks to the 100 Deg weather.  I had started this Granny Messenger Bag.  Well bag is now finished and am working on the strap.  Then I will line it and add a flower or something.

I also stopped to smell the tea.  LOL Using here this very hand tea thing.  You put your tea leaves in it, it acts like your spoon and even has a plunger on the end that squeezes the leaves.

We went to a nearby festival this weekend, on the Sunday when the weather was more bearable.  Called Sunfest.  There's many stages around the park with different cultural music performed, this one was more popular as it seem to have the more lively music and the beer garden.  As well, all different kinds of crafty items and things in vendor booths.

And my fave the owlies!!!

I've been too busy working on these blanket projects that take up more time.  I wanted to make something more fun.  So I have been wanting to make Lucy's (Attic24) Happy Flower Decoration for a while now.  I was surprised it didn't take too long.  It was just a bit more time to assemble and put on beads and buttons.  Also some blocking time.  So here is my version.

And closer the bit at the bottom.

Now, where to hang it.  I might just have to bring it to work to brighten my cubical. LOL

Now, get back to another ongoing project or make another one of these. Hmmm.....

I just had to share this picture.  My honey was hold these two and it was  just too cute how the were craddling each other.
