WIP Wednesday

I finally got around to taking pics of my works in progress. I think the star blanket above is nearly the size I want.  I think it'll be for mom for Christmas.  The neopolitan project on the left will be a shawl. The colours makes me want ice cream. 

Poncho (top) is almost done.  The larger it gets the longer the rounds take and that's when the ADD kicks in.  And on the bottom are two cowls on the go.  Most like to sell in Etsy.

This delicious yarn I fell in love with at Michael's. So soft for an acrylic yarn.  I am hoping to make my first cable knit hat for my honey as the colours are masuline.

Summer Fun

Happy weekend all. I've had this week off during the Canada Day and American 4th of July.

Honey and I went to Toronto and Niagara Falls area for a few days.

Of course a road trip meant I got to do some crochet.

I also started some bunting triangles this week.

And finished my starflower mandala.

Nice to finish a project.

And as for the trip.

CN Tower

 Distillery District restored in Toronto with shops and restaurants.

And we went to the Ripley's Aquarium

And Niagara. Always lots to do and see here.

Spring Is Here

Happy Easter all!! It's starting to feel like spring.  

Except for the other day early in the week.

This is what we woke up to mid April.  Go away now.

I have been crocheting a bit. A bit of this and that. 

Some on my ripple. And Easter bunnies I made for

a friends girls, one has her birthday this weekend.

Of which I completed a sewing project for her birthday.

I made her this little purse.

I also pulled out this flower loom I had got from a thrift store.

It made some cute little flowers.

Last weekend my honey got me the bicycle of my dreams. LOL

Hence, making a flower for it. 

I have since got a basket for the

front and now my next project will

be to make a cute basket liner. 

I also want to pimp it out with some 

crochet of course. Seat cover maybe.

I've been for 4 rides this week.  Burning off the winter weight.

Winter Blahs

Slow progress on the mood blanket this week. I have completed a few more

squares than what is shown, but now I'm trying to color co-ordinate the rows

in random fashion and join the rows.

Another commercialized holiday behind us. 

Here are my heart creations for this year. I was 

thinking of turning them into a hang up like the Boho

Pendants from Cherry Hearts Blog.

Another row added to this ripple blanket. 

Has everyone been enjoying the Olympics?

We're hockey fans here and waiting for 

Canada to win the gold. Fingers Crossed.

USA and Russia are currently playing, good match.

Winter Progress

 This was an interesting and productive week. I started another mood blanket.

Again, in attempt to stash bust.  I wanted to do another ripple and have had these

colours for some time. They do look lovely together.  I have added more squares to my original mood blanket.  I have more done than what is attached here.

And since my yarn arrived this week I completed my minion hat. I used Repeat Crafter Me's Pattern (picture shown top) and my hat bottom, girl version 

that is.  I love it. I may just have to make myself one.

Tis the season for hearts.  Just messing with some patterns out there.

And yes, my yarn arrived.  The black for the hat and light peach. I started 

making some squares for my blanket with the peach.

For the trouble, they even sent me these free pattern books. 

So nice of them. 

I managed to get so much crocheting done as last Sunday I brought

my honey into emergency. He's had a terrible pain in his left side for

some time now and Sunday it was too unbearable.  Dreading the long

hospital wait, I packed up my yarn projects a few snacks and were there

for a good 7-8 hours.  He hat a CT Scan done and was given some

anti-biotics. Yesterday went back for ultra sound. They believe it to be

appendagitis. But who knows. A while back he had walked into a half

wall divider between our living and kitchen area while half asleep

and he may have done something from then. Wait and see what the 

follow up will be with his doctor. 

The joys of getting older. Health issues. 

But sun is shining today and the Olympics have started. It was a wonderful

opening show. Happy weekend all!!

Keep Calm and Keep Warm

The best part of being a crocheter is you'll always be warm.

My mood blanket is coming along keeping me toasty as it 

sits on my lap joining my squares. 

This week I realized I had ordered some yarn from the Yarn Outlet 

here in Canada only to realize it was delivered two weeks ago via 

UPS and I never saw it.  Mind you the weather has been very snowy and

windy so chances are the package blew away or is in a snow bank.

UPS site just said delivered, left a door.  Nice.  Next time I know to 

request a signature. 

So the shipper is re-sending my yarn.  I've only been waiting for

the Caron Simply Soft to finish a minion hat I'm making for someone.

The deal was so good I couldn't pass it up.

I also felt the need to bust into some other stash and start a ripple. 

Beige, light green, dusty pink and I will be adding a white.

Even the cat is keeping warm in my knitting scarf.
