Crocheting the Week Away

Finished my table mat. I wish I had just realised I needed it longer to add to the ends before putting the border on.  Oh well, if it bugs me enough I guess I would frog the borders off.  But it's not likely.  

I've been getting some progress done on my ripple with my sidekick.  It covers over my feet and is up to my shoulders.  Maybe another foot to go.

I also just signed up for this winter's Handmade Gift Exchange.  I enjoyed doing it last year and have kept in contact with my Canadian partner Carissa who makes some great jewellery.  Check out her Etsy shop.

TGIF, it's been a long week.  But, yet another long weekend for me.  Yeah for vacation time.  Monday off. Mom's birthday saturday. Crochet, crochet and more crochet.  

Kitty update, my little guy has recovered quite quick and well from his teeth extractions last week.  The other one sneezing has seemed to get through it, thanks to anti-biotic meds from the other cat.

Scarf Goodness

Just a quick post before having to start making some Thanksgiving foods.  I found this scarf pattern on Planet June.  At first I was having trouble with following it but I donated the $1 to get the better instructions.  I had this Berroco Comfort DK that I got from E-bay.  It's so soft and light weight I thought it would be perfect for a scarf.

Yes, it's going to be for a Christmas gift.  The nice thing about the colours, minus the Instagram effect, it's not too overly holiday coloured.  It's a deeper red and muted green and a nice off white.  

I also just listed a few more of my creations on my Etsy shop.  I've been putting that off for a bit.

Monkey Hat & More

I managed to make a child's hat for my Etsy Shop.  I love these Sock Monkey hats and had to try one.  I mostly followed the pattern here on Crochet in Color's site and did my own improvising at bit on edging etc.  Girls can wear with the flower or optional boys with topper pom pom.  Fits kids 4-12. 

Still plugging away at my crochet bag.  I figure another series of colours and it should be near desired depth, then the handles. 

After seeing this bag, a co-worker asked if I would make a runner type mat for her daughter's new dresser to protect the top in a nice bright pink and green.  So with yarn ready and new double ended circular hook, I am getting that going as well.  And I am also learning how to use this type of hook and practising more tunisian type crochet.

I know you cannot seen alot yet but it shows off the hook at least. ;)  LOL Also completed on the weekend another Tunisian square that I'm sort of still trying to do with the CAL with KRW Knitwear Studios, also in Ravelry. I believe we are to be on another tunisian stitch that I have yet to try out but I will fit it in.
