Keep Calm and Crochet On

I recently got out this bag of yarn I used from an old project and started a new

one, like I need another one.  I'm going to try and keep making the squares until I use up all the yarn I have in this bag.  Hopefully it will make a decent size blanket. 

With signs of spring actually in gear I've been out on my bike whenever I can after work.

I'd still love to make a basket line for my bike. Someday.

And the baby geese are out.

As well as our backyard friends.

Even took my girl for a walk in the back pack.

New kitty is fitting in well. He likes to wrestle with his new brother.

Did you watch the Royal Wedding?  I had a nap Friday after work and stayed up all night.

It was lovely, I'm sure Diana would have approved.

Leap Into Spring

I've been doing a bit more crochet lately.  Mostly on the weekends.  The weeks just fly by, gym, work, house chores, pet attention, hubby attention. Finally come the weekend i pull out my projects and unwind crocheting while usually watching Hockey Saturday nights. I had boughten a Caron Cake yarn skein in buttercream a while back and started making this star shaped throw.

I only bought one skein, my bad, to go back to Michael's craft store to find they haven't had this color in quite some time.  I've search online with no luck for the buttercream. I popped into Walmart one day and they had these by Bernat.  It's a similar colorway just has some darker brown shades.

Sadly, I think I will have to continue with that. I think it'll be a complementary color scheme to what I have already started. What do you think?

And on the trip to Michael's to see if they had the buttercream in, these small skeins of fun colours caught my eye and envisioned a project in my head. They were only a $1.25 each.  Then I had a coupon for the big skein of white for joining.

Keegan is turning 15 this month.  Also my birthday this weekend. Honey and I going out for a romantic birthday dinner.  And for dessert, a week off of work.

Time Flies

Seriously, where does time go?  It's almost September.  I haven't blogged since April.  This bit of knitting is the first I've picked up in a long time.  My focus this year has been mostly been on myself, my health and weight loss.  I also started my own garden of vegetables this year.  I guess between that, and my 4 fur babies, working and keeping the house it's does fly by.  

I am not so much Vegan anymore.  I tried for a good 8 months.  Then I started slipping with some cheese.  And randomly bits of chicken here and there.  These days I still try and stick to it mostly except for a bit of chicken and some cheese throughout a week. 

I started some seeds in a little greenhouse this year.  Not all varieties of seeds took but it was all a learning curve.  Green onions, green beans, snap peas, tomatoes seeds, cucumber, carrot, corn and sunflowers were planted but really I only got the corn, green beans, green onions and sunflowers to really grow full.  I grew one snap pea.  Yeah.  I ended up buying a tomato plant already started which took off well.  I replanted cucumber seeds and carrots later. 

 

I've been working hard at the gym.  At least 3 days a week and some swimming.  All around I have just been more active.  Keeping house cleaner and bicycling when weather permits as it's been an extremely hot and humid summer here in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. 

I still pick up this project here and there when watching TV at times. I am hoping my crochet mojo will come back more in the cooler weather.  I am looking forward to the fall.  

Kitties are doing well.  

This guy feels right at home as you can tell. He likes lots of love.

Tigger is still kicking as skinny as he is.  Loves to sit outside when he can.

Pippa, my snowy princess is the sleeping champ.  I thought Keegan was considering he's 14 now (Below left)
