Finished Scarf

I finished my knitted scarf. It's so cozy I wore it at work tonight as the office was a bit cold.

There's nothing like the feeling of finishing a project.  I guess if I finished all the projects on the go I may burst.

I joined the Handmade Gift Exchange again this year.  I made that giant knitted scarf for my swap partner, who has received it by now and hopes she likes it as she's in a cold part of Canada. I received her package today to find a truly unique creations.  I did mention to her I love snowmen.

I am not sure if there is a name for this type of crafting but it looks tedious.

I do love it though.

My crochet crocodile stitch tree I made a few years ago and my mini silver tree that has bright blue, pick and green decorations.

I even went festive on the nails today.

Progress Made

Happy weekend all!!  I haven't posted in a bit.  Have a bit of a cold at the moment.

I guess that's the joys of winter.  But I have made some progress on various projects.  I always wanted to make some of these starburst granny squares and with some recently acquired pastel colours I thought I'd try it out.  This is now blocking to lay flat.  I think I will add more to the border. Then I will start the backing of this cushion cover with a striped crochet in these colours.

I finished knitting this cowl scarf. It covers the shoulders nicely to keep warm. Through the holidays I had picked up this fuzzy type yarn. I thought it would be perfect to finish off the top and bottom of this. I may have to block the bottom of this however as it's tending to curl up.

And for my chunky cable scarf, it is finished.  Super warm.  I used up the whole ball of yarn I got. The only thing I'm not keen on it that the mixed colouring doesn't show the cable design. 

Chalk that up to lesson learned. So I took a picture a bit closer up to show the cable.

I finally got the first book in this series as I had the second one.  Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs.  My aunt has started reading it and tells me it is very good. There's something cozy about reading novels that include the hobby you love.

New Challenges

So far for the Crochet Mood Blanket Squares I've done 5 in 4 days.  I have not yet decided on the border or joining.  Probably just single crochet them together.

Other that these squares, I've been doing some knitting.  This thin scarf.  I'm really getting the hang of continental knitting.  

Today we are starting to get a great deal of snow for our area.  Some call it snowmagedon.  I'm in the blue area.  If you're in these areas, stay warm. Hopefully stocked up in the cupboards and pray for those who do not have proper shelter and food.
