Summer's Here

Happy first day of summer to those who live in the northern hemisphere. It's a lovely sunny day here.

I have almost completed my starflower mandala.  I am half way on the last row.  It will need some blocking for sure.

My rose bushes I planted in May now have lovely blooms.

And for this warmer weather I went out last weekend and got my hair cut off.
Usually I've had bob or almost to shoulder length.  But, I have such
thick hair that it is so hot in the summer.

The other half is not a fan of shorter hair but oh well.
It's a bit easier to take care of as well.

Happy weekend and first day of summer all!!

Summer Joys

Happy weekend all!  It was a long week. I managed to get a few more rows in on my mandala.  I think there is only a few more to go, borders. It's definitely going to need blocking.

I have finished another row on this WIP.  You know one of those projects you set aside.
I was organizing my yarn bin and sat and finished the yellow row while down in my craft area.
It's been harder to focus on crafting, especially sewing when it's so nice out.  The super hot
weather is still to come, which I am not a fan of, so I've enjoyed the perfect 70-80 degree weather
while I can.  Sewing can be for rainy days.

So I did something daring and decided to go shorter in hair style.  It's been over a decade
I've had shoulder length or longer hair.  As men seem to prefer.  With hot weather, no
air conditioning in my car and when you're slightly over weight you tend to get hot
very easily, I decided to do a shorter do.

I forgot to share with you crocheters a fun t-shirt I came across
on the net that I had to order.  It's from Teespring

Last weekend we had a local festival that we went to.  I made a collage pic
from it.  It was again perfect weather for it as well. I got the little green owl
in top corner for my garden.

And lastly, my rose bushes I planted a month ago have bloomed.

Well have a wonderful weekend all!

Glorious Days

The weather has been so nice lately it's distracting me from crochet. But I have managed a few more rows on my mandala.

This week we had a bit of a scare with our cat.  Our baby suck.

The vet say it's IBS-Irritable Bowel Syndrome.  He was put on a new medicine and it
wasn't making him improve.  He would be listless the day I gave it to him and bounce
back the day after.  But early week he didn't.  He wasn't eating or drinking and not
making it to the litter box.  We took him in to the 24 hour vet. More blood work, at
least it came back his kidneys were ok, which my honey was worried about.
Long story short, he's on an antibiotic and back on his steroid for the IBS.
His appetite is back and he's drinking on his own.

I stopped in a local quilting shop that was having an open house. It made me giddy looking
at all the colourful fabrics. Sample quilts and other projects were hung.  They sold quilting packs of fabrics pre-cut as well as fat quarters, which I couldn't resist getting a few.

Even received a goodie bag that had a fat quarter in as well.
I may just have to sign up for a class.

Went by the nature park yesterday and spotted these rarely seen birds.

And on my bike ride this week, spotted a few families of geese.

Happy weekend all!!
