Swap Received
Well I was delighted to know my swap partner for the Handmade Gift Exchange received my package yesterday. I was waiting to blog about it until she received it. There was a Flickr group to share what we made and I had only posted a picture of the snowflakes on it. I did not want to spoil the surprise of the finished gift. I made those snowflakes into a swag to hang over a door, mantle, where ever. Also I had painted a small ceramic christmas tree tipped with snow. And of course I threw in a few Avon christmas items of balm and hand cream. She emailed me saying she really liked them. I can't wait to see what she has sent to me. This was a really fun swap to participate in. I had forgotten to take a picture of the ceramic tree. I hope my partner will post on her blog. Her blog button is on the right side of mine. But here is the snowflake swag.

Angry Bird Hat
Latest project accomplished, my first Angry Bird Hat. A friend had made one and I had to try it. Just did a basic beanie pattern and added the earflaps. Crab stitch edging. Eyes, Tuft and Brows. It's child sized and made for a co-workers son. I hope he loves it.
Not, onto another hat possibly.

TGIF - Fill in the blank Friday
1. A nervous habit I have is picking at my hormonal hairs on my chin
2. Something that makes me sad is how a family member works hard all their life to end up with dimentia
3. Today I am thankful for no major debts.
4. My favorite room in my house is bedroom, cozy bed to sit and crochet in.
5. I can’t stand petty non-sense
6. If I had an extra $100 to spend on whatever I wanted today I would craft supplies! Probably spurge on a more expensive yarn I wouldn't normally buy.
7. The last person I hung out with was my honey.

Motif Goodness from Japan
I first fell in love with Japanese motifs when reading Attic 24 blog about Lucy's Japanese Flower Shawl. I came across this book on eBay. Supposedly a rare motif book. The only thing is, you have to know your crochet symbols to do the patterns. That is unless you know someone who can translate Japanese. I can't wait to try these patterns out. It's just called Crochet Motif.

I guess I should have used a more feminine color for the flower. I just got this yarn color and it was the first thing I grabbed to try the tutorial. LOL

Scarf for Mom
Managed to get in another project this week, a scarf for Mom's birthday. She loved it, especially the colors. It's using Charisma's Loops and Threads, bulky yarn in Mountain Majesty colorway. I basically just chained 30 + 2 for turning and skipped a chain, double crochet, chain one double crochet is second chain. It just leaves a nice little gap.
